TASTEFEST2012
(August 23, 2012)We attended the Tastefest event on 18 and 19 August with some of our farm animals. We wanted to show the link between food and where it comes from. Our marquee was full of displays covering rare breeds, recipe booklets, details about our animals and our farm. There was also a quiz relating to food and the animals and a turkey was raffled for christmas.
The winner of the raffle was Mr & Mrs Foster, who will receive a 6kg free range bronze turkey for their christmas lunch.
The winner of the quiz was Grace Wilkinson. The prize for the quiz was a selection of our rare breed lamb and pork.
The weather was extremely hot on Saturday and we were all exhausted. Sunday was better and more people came along to see us. The animals were all very well behaved considering how hot it was. Thank you to everyone that took time to come and find out about Hollin Root Farm and congratulations to the winners of the competitions.
