Turkeys

(December 31, 2013)

It has been a very hectic couple of weeks preparing the turkeys!  Everything was organised and ready and then the storm hit on Monday night.  Luckily lots of people collected on the Monday as they were concerned about the weather.  We got up Tuesday morning and realised how awful the storm had been, with many people without power and flooding throughout the country.  What an awful start to christmas for them.  One family had made the journey to Headcorn but couldn't get any further due to the flooding.  I loaded the bird into my car and after trying several different ways, I managed to get through a flood to Headcorn and delivered their turkey to them in the car park!  It then took about 45 mins to do the 5 mile journey home, again through several detours and floods.  Simon had the same issues trying to get turkeys to our friends in Lamberhurst and Crowborough.  The result was all but one turkey arriving in time for christmas.  We hope all of our friends, family and customers enjoyed their christmas dinner and thank you again for supporting us.  Merry christmas and happy new year to all.
